Studio tour with Kevis House Gallery about the Colourfield Tapestries and the process behind their making.
Colourfield Tapestries
Each tapestry in the Colourfield series is a one-of-a-kind artwork, handwoven using natural materials—wool, cotton, and linen—chosen for their enduring quality and connection to centuries of weaving tradition.
Every piece is built slowly, thread by thread, using techniques that have remained unchanged for millennia. This process is more than craft; it is a meditative act, where time slows and the rhythm of weft through warp reveals a visual language unique to each work. No two pieces can ever be repeated.
The resulting tapestries hold a quiet energy: they capture both the inner world of the artist and the landscape that inspires them. Each finished work becomes not just a textile, but a lasting statement of patience, presence, and connection—to the natural world, to the history of weaving, and to the collector who lives with it.
Owning a Colourfield tapestry is an invitation to live with something timeless—an artwork rooted in the past, alive in the present, and crafted to endure for generations.
