Winter Light

Winter Light – 134cm x 134cm
Materials: Wool and cotton

wall mounted on plywood baton - no frame or glassing

Winter Light draws its essence from the quiet, cloud enveloped landscapes at the northern edge of the West Sussex Downs. As the largest single work in the Colourfield series, it captures the subtle shifts of winter light across the downs.

Since 2020, I have been weaving these pieces, a radical shift that allowed me to immerse fully in the language of colour. Wool, with its rich, absorbent texture, became a medium through which light, shadow, and hue could linger—holding memory and emotion in every thread.
